Hey Hammer Fam! It's me, Hollie! Shortly after my 35th birthday post I had what my husband calls my mid-life-crisis. Don't worry - it wasn't bad. It only resulted in me leaving a fantastic career in a field I truly love and respect for what felt like an opportunity to be with my children more often. I turned 35 and thought to myself, "I should be a teacher". Now I have a Bachelors Degree in Recreation Administration and Leisure Services... I was a terrible student. Not exactly a teachers pet. And if you really want to know please know that when I told my own mother that I wanted to go back to school to become a teacher she literally told me, "School really wasn't your thing". LOL. I love you mom. Now she's my biggest cheerleader because fast forward... I'm in my second year teaching!! EEK. It's such a long story... A story I'll VLOG later. Anyway, a quick update:
It's now 2020. Tysie is 11, Kenzie is 10, Axten is 6, and Brynlie is 5! They are in 5th, 4th, 1st & TK. I teach kindergarten at the school they attend. Josh is still kicking butt at his place of employment where he's somewhat of a Traffic Plan Engineer. He's so good at his job it's ridiculousness. Like seriously he's the best employee ever. He's honest, hard working, efficient, and everything one wants in an employee. I'm back in school earning my teaching credential and masters degree. With the career change I took a drastic pay cut so I started working a couple nights a week at our local dance studio. I danced there many moons ago (jr. year of high school) and now all 4 of our kids have been involved in some way or another!
Where have we been? Well on our family plate currently:
Teaching Kindergarten
Attending Credential Classes in the evenings/online
Second Job 1-3 evenings a week
Kids activities:
Brynlie: dance, gymnastics, Broadway Babies, & seasonal swim
Axten: gymnastics, baseball, BMX racing, & seasonal swim
Kenzlie: Triple Treats (acting, singing, dancing), musical theater, soccer, & seasonal swim
Tysie: competitive dance, volleyball, track, & seasonal swim
So why the heck am I attempting to BLOG again? Well, my facebook memories are breaking my heart these days, but they're also bringing so much joy to me and my family. We get a BIG kick out of all the memories and I have so much I want them to know about their childhood. I figure this is my best attempt at a photo-album meets journal. I hope one day they see just how important they are to us. So here it goes... Another attempt to get this thing going. :)
